How to Install Tomcat Using the Windows Service Installer

Step -1: In order to proceed with the Installation, open the downloaded Windows Service Installer file.

Step -2: Click Next to proceed.

Step -3: Read the License agreement and click I Agree to proceed.

Step -4: Click Full in the choose component section and ensure the wizard installs the Servlet and Tomcat Host Manager and JSP examples web applications. Else you can keep the default Normal installation type and click Next.

Step -5: You can enter the Administrator login credentials and connection port in the configuration section. Click Next.

Step -6: The next step requires you would need to mention the full path to the JRE directory on your system. If you have previously set up the Java environment variables, it will auto complete this . Click Next.

Step -7: In Choose Install location mention the Tomcat server destination folder or keep the default folder and click Install.

Step -8: Check the Run Apache Tomcat box to start the service after the installation finishes.To complete the installation, click Finish.

Step -9: A popup window will appears and shows the status progress. Once the process completes the Apache Tomcat web server is installed.
