How to enable and configure versioning in a list or library?

Step 1: Open the list or library that you want to enable versioning.

Step 2: Select Settings Gear shaped settings button , and then select List Settings or Library Settings.

Step 3: On the Settings page, select Versioning settings.

Step 4: From the Version settings page, you have the following settings available:
