How to Configure Service Monitoring with Watchdog in Plesk

Step 1: Navigate to Extensions > Watchdog in Plesk.

Step 2: Access the Services tab to view a list of all Plesk-controlled services.

Step 3: For each service, click on its name to access monitoring settings.

Step 4: Enable service monitoring by selecting the “Monitor the service” checkbox.

Step 5: Choose to save service statistics for CPU and RAM usage with the “Save service statistics” option.

Step 6: Opt for “Stop monitoring the service if it frequently restarts” and set the failure ratio to avoid constant alerts.

Step 7: Specify the “Connection timeout” for Watchdog to wait for a response from the polled service.

Step 8: Review and, if necessary, customize commands for starting and stopping the service.

Step 9: Maintain the default 60 seconds in the “Service startup time” box or adjust for custom scripts that take longer to execute.

Step 10: Click OK to save settings, repeat for other services, and finally, click the Enable icon in the Tools group to activate monitoring based on your configurations.
