How to configure Remote Access Service with Static IP Address Pool

Step 1: Select Start, point to Settings, choose Control Panel, and then double-click Network.

Step 2: Navigate to the Services tab, select Remote Access Service in the Network Services list, and then click Properties.

Step 3: Click on Network, check the TCP/IP box if it isn’t already selected, and then click Configure next to TCP/IP.

Step 4: Choose “Use static address pool.”

Step 5: Enter the start and end of the IP address range in the Begin and End boxes, respectively.

Note: Ensure that you configure a pool of static IP addresses on a different network segment than the internal LAN.

Step 6: To exclude a range of IP addresses from the static address pool, type the starting IP address in the From box, the ending IP address in the To box, and then click Add.

Step 7: Click OK, click OK again, and then click Continue.

Step 8: Go to the Protocols tab, select TCP/IP Protocol > Properties. Switch to the Routing tab, and check the “Enable IP Forwarding” box if it isn’t already selected.

Step 9: Click OK, then click Close.

Step 10: Select Yes to restart the computer.
