How to configure Fail2Ban Settings for Enhanced Security in Plesk

Step 1: Navigate to Tools & Settings > IP Address Banning (Fail2Ban) under the “Security” section.

Step 2: Access the “Settings” tab, where you can make adjustments to the following parameters:

a. IP address ban period:

Set the duration, in seconds, for which an IP address remains banned. Once this period elapses, the IP address is automatically unbanned.

b. Time interval for detection of subsequent attacks:

Specify the time interval, in seconds, during which the system monitors and tallies the number of unsuccessful login attempts and other undesired actions from an IP address.

c. Number of failures before the IP address is banned:

Define the threshold for the count of failed login attempts from a specific IP address that triggers the banning mechanism.

Step 3: After making the desired changes, click “OK” to apply the new Fail2Ban settings.
