How to add DNS zone in Windows server

Step -1: Open Server Manager: Log in to your Windows Server with administrator privileges.

Click on the Windows icon on the bottom-left corner, and then click on Server Manager to open the Server Manager application.

Step -2: Add Roles and Features:

In Server Manager, click on “Add roles and features” from the main dashboard or navigate to “Manage” and select “Add Roles and Features” from the drop-down menu.

Step -3: Role-based or feature-based installation:

Choose Role-based or feature-based installation, and click “Next.”

Step -4: Select a server:

Select the appropriate server from the list and click “Next.”

Step -5: Select server roles:

In the Select server roles window, select DNS Server. Click Add Features to proceed. Then, click “Next.”

Step -7: Select features (Optional):

If you need to install any additional features , you can select them in this step. For DNS, the required features will be automatically added in previously.

Step -8: Confirm installation selections:

Review the roles and features you have selected and click “Install” to begin the installation process.

Step -9: Install DNS Server:

The installation process may take a some time. Click “Close” once the installation is complete.
